Where we are now

It is no longer possible to reverse the damage that is now being done to the climate of our only home — planet Earth. Even if we all stopped burning fossil fuels today, it wouldn't make any difference. It is no longer possible to do something that will prevent runaway climate change. This civilisation is now finished. The amount of carbon dioxide we are putting into the atmosphere today is still increasing, it has been increasing since the industrial revolution. Over the last 30 years, it has not just been increasing, we have been putting carbon dioxide (and other greenhouse gases) into the atmosphere at a faster and faster and faster rate!!! This is now resulting in the irreversible heating of our planet from positive feedback loops like the melting of ice at the polar regions (less heat from the sun is reflected back into space, more heat is absorbed by our oceans), thawing of the Arctic permafrost (releasing more
