Sorry, I've got better things to do with my time than improve tools maintained by people who think they know better than their users do. My point remains that A) there are people that want this feature, and B) there are valid reasons for them to want it. I'd be happy to contribute code aimed at keeping environment-creep in check under these circumstances if I had confidence that you'd actually respect point B. Otherwise it seems like you (or someone on the core team) would be itching to reject any pull request aimed at solving this problem simply because you've made up your minds that it's not needed.
