buttermilk cornbread recipe

buttermilk cornbread

this is really good and you should make it

  • servings: 30
  • prep: 15 mins
  • cook time: 40 mins
  • ready in: 55 mins

ingredients

  • 1-2/3 cups butter
  • 2-1/4 cups white sugar
  • 6-3/4 eggs
  • 3-1/3 cups buttermilk
  • 1-3/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3-1/3 cups cornmeal
  • 3-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1-3/4 teaspoons salt

directions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 pan for every 8-10 servings. - For 30 servings, 3 8x8 pans, or two 9x12 pans are sufficient.

  • melt butter in large skillet.

  • remove from heat and stir in sugar until blended.

  • quickly add eggs and beat until well blended.

  • combine buttermilk with baking soda and stir into mixture in pan.

  • stir in cornmeal, flour, and salt until well blended and few lumps remain.

  • pour batter into the prepared pan(s).

  • bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick/sd card/pen inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • let it cool or something

  • eat it with your mouth(s)

Output example, using the quantities above:

  • two 9x12 inch aluminum baking pans.
  • Optimal cooking time turned out to be 34 minutes, using a Whirlpool AccuBake electric oven
  • the home has an elevation of 333 feet above sea level.
