Sr. IT Systems Administrator - UNIX will architect, design and build complex environments utilizing processor, memory, cache, storage, software and back up strategies while also administering system security, backup and recovery. The Sr. IT Systems Administrator - UNIX will also design and implement SAN configuration and disk storage and monitor and tune system performance. This role will also support development , testing and production system environments with the ability to trouble shoot and solve complex issues along with planning, testing, updating, executing and supporting system disaster recovery processes as well as administering user access to systems. Core Competencies • Strong knowledge of UNIX and Linux system internals, operating systems and security concepts. • Strong system programming and shell-scripting skills. • Working knowledge of database management concepts including Oracle on UNIX and Linux servers. • Experience with enterprise backup and recovery software such as EMC Networker, Tivoli Storage Manager, or Veritas NetBackup. • Disaster Recovery planning and testing experience including bare-metal or "hot site" recovery. • Storage Array Network (SAN) design and configuration skills and experience. • Large-scale storage array (greater than 100 TB) configuration and management skills. • Solid organizational and prioritizing skills. Capable of working with limited supervision and multiple distractions. Can perform and has demonstrated performance under pressure and tight deadlines. • Able to be on 24 hour / 7 day a week call support. • Ability to partner with technical and non-technical users. • Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical documentation. • Able to be a team player and is customer service driven. Work Experience and/or Education • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology or equivalent. Degree is not required with extensive experience. • Operation system administration training classes pertaining to a UNIX operating system - Certifications preferred. • Strong knowledge of UNIX and Linux system internals, operations systems and security concepts with a minimum 7 years experience. • Minimum 7 years UNIX administration, including significant experience with AIX and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. • Minimum 7 years storage administration, with significant experience on EMC Symmetrix and Clariion arrays and with PowerPath software. • Large-scale server and data center experience required.
