Node app deploy with nginx & SSL

Node.js Deployment

Steps to deploy a Node.js app to DigitalOcean using PM2, NGINX as a reverse proxy and an SSL from LetsEncrypt

1. Sign up for Digital Ocean

If you use the referal link below, you get $10 free (1 or 2 months) https://m.do.co/c/5424d440c63a

2. Create a droplet and log in via ssh

I will be using the root user, but would suggest creating a new user

How to proxy web apps using nginx?

Virtual Hosts on nginx (CSC309)

When hosting our web applications, we often have one public IP address (i.e., an IP address visible to the outside world) using which we want to host multiple web apps. For example, one may wants to host three different web apps respectively for example1.com, example2.com, and example1.com/images on the same machine using a single IP address.

How can we do that? Well, the good news is Internet browsers

Mocha/Chai/Enyzme test setup with create-react-app

Basic setup for using Enzyme/Mocha/Chai with create-react-app

This is a temporary solution. Might change in the near future, this depends on how create-react-app will implement testing.

create-react-app quick-test-example

cd quick-test-example

npm run eject
