Privacy Policy for Copy and Share Mark

Last Updated: February 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Copy and Share Mark ("the Extension") handles your information.

1. Overview

Copy and Share Mark is a productivity tool designed to help you manage, export, and import your Chrome bookmarks. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your data.

2. Data Collection and Usage

The Extension is designed to operate locally on your device.

  • No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information, browsing history, or bookmark data to any external servers or third parties.
  • Local Processing: All processing of your bookmarks (exporting to text/JSON and importing from text/JSON) happens entirely within your browser.

3. Permissions Justification

To provide its core functionality, the Extension requires the following permissions:

  • bookmarks: This permission is used exclusively to read your existing bookmark structure and to create new bookmarks when you use the "Import" feature. Your bookmark data never leaves your browser.
  • storage: This permission is used to save your UI preferences locally (such as which folders you have expanded in the bookmark tree). This data is stored on your device using chrome.storage.local and is not shared.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third parties. There are no tracking scripts, analytics, or advertisements included in the Extension.

5. Security

Since all data remains on your local machine, the security of your bookmarks is tied to the security of your personal computer and your Chrome browser.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
