World Explorer for Minecraft analyzes Minecraft world folders entirely on your Mac. World data is read in place — nothing is uploaded, nothing is modified.
No tracking. No analytics. No advertising. No personal data is collected.
When you choose a world folder, the app reads files from that folder (level.dat, player data, advancements, statistics, server logs, region files, server.properties, user lists) and presents them in the UI. All parsing happens locally on your Mac. The app never writes to or modifies the world folder.
The app makes outbound network requests for two purposes only, and only when the "Player avatars" setting is enabled (it is on by default and can be disabled at any time in Settings → General):
- mc-heads.net — fetches public player head images for the UUIDs found in your world.
- sessionserver.mojang.com — resolves Minecraft usernames from those same UUIDs.
These requests contain only the player UUID already present in your world data and standard HTTP headers. No account information, no telemetry, and no information about your Mac or your world is sent. Resolved usernames are cached locally so the app makes fewer requests over time. Disabling the toggle stops all outbound network activity.
All app data is stored locally on your Mac:
- App preferences and the list of recently opened worlds (in standard macOS user defaults).
- A local cache of avatar images and resolved usernames (in the app's caches directory).
- A local cache of structure-scan results per world (in the app's application support directory).
You can clear all caches at any time from Settings → Caches.
The app does not share any data with third parties beyond the two endpoints listed above, both of which are operated independently of the developer.
