Summary

SnapEdit collects anonymous usage analytics to improve the extension. Your screenshots never leave your device. We do not collect personal information, browsing history, or screenshot content.

What We Collect

Anonymous Analytics

We collect the following data to understand how the extension is used and to fix bugs:

  • Anonymous User ID - A randomly generated identifier (e.g., "anon_x7k2m9"). This is NOT tied to your identity.
  • Session Information - When you open/close the extension and session duration
  • Feature Usage - Which tools you use (arrow, blur, text, etc.)
  • Extension Version - To track bug fixes across versions
  • Platform - Operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux)
  • Chrome Version - Browser compatibility tracking
  • Error Reports - When something breaks, we log the error type (not your data)
  • UX Signals - Repeated clicks on the same button (helps us find confusing UI)

What We Do NOT Collect

  • Your screenshots or images (these stay on YOUR device)
  • URLs you visit
  • Your name, email, or any personal information
  • Browsing history
  • File contents
  • Anything you type

Where Data Is Stored

Analytics data is sent to Supabase, a secure cloud database. Data is retained for product improvement purposes.

Third-Party Services

Your Rights

Since we only collect anonymous data, there is no personal data to delete. If you want to stop all analytics:

  1. Uninstall the extension, or
  2. Block network requests to supabase.co using an ad blocker

Data Security

  • All data transmitted over HTTPS
  • No sensitive information collected
  • Anonymous IDs cannot be traced back to individuals

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be noted by updating the "Last Updated" date.
