Privacy Policy for Tidy3D API Helper
Effective Date: April 28, 2025
Thank you for using Tidy3D API Helper (the "Extension"). This privacy policy explains how we handle information when you use our Extension.
1. No Personal Data Collection
The Tidy3D API Helper is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, track, or transmit any personally identifiable information about you or your usage of the extension.
2. Use of Local Storage (chrome.storage.local)
The Extension offers a feature allowing you to customize and save your own code snippets via the Settings page. To enable this functionality, the Extension utilizes Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local).
What is stored: Only the custom code snippets that you explicitly save through the Extension's Settings page are stored.
Where it is stored: This data is stored locally within your web browser on your own computer.
Data Access: This locally stored data is only accessed by the Extension itself to display your custom snippets when you use the Extension or its Settings page. It is never transmitted off your computer by the Extension.
3. Default Snippets
The default API examples, boilerplate snippets, and material library entries are included within the Extension package or fetched from publicly accessible resources associated with Tidy3D documentation. Accessing these default snippets does not involve storing any user-specific data.
4. No Data Sharing
Since we do not collect personal information or transmit user-specific data, we do not share any such data with third parties.
5. Security
The security of your locally stored custom snippets relies on the security mechanisms provided by your web browser (Google Chrome).
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
