OK, here is a bit of the story. I was going along Burnett Creek Road, hootin; wide open road.

Then I turned down this road (Newman Road if I remember rightly) and it was awesome and I thought, "Rob would love this road" because it was easy and scenic. Then I went passed a campground and then a sign that said "4x4 only." Then there was a rocky uphill easy peasy no problem. It was quite like Duck Creek Road. I thought Rob and Jason would be fine and would like it here. So I kept going, this road is not on any map at all (it is now) and then I stopped for a bit. I could hear single-cylinders coming from a long way away.

They passed me 5 minutes later going the other direction. A DR-Z650, KTM690 and Husqvarna TR650. So I thought, well fuck it, I will go check this out.

Now, I don't think I went by any turn-offs, but obviously I did. The road progressively got harder and harder. Like, it became an enduro track and I thought, "Rob would not like it here."

Then suddenly, massive rocky hills and there was no way I could turn the bike around at this point. Well fuck it, I checked the map for the nearest road, it wasn't too far away. However, I had a huge amount of altitude on by now and it was going to be downhill from here.

Well fuck me, it got even more and more worse and at some point I was worried that the track would just end, because I sure as fuck wasn't on a public road anymore. I could see another road coming up on my GPS and I was jumping fucking boulders on the Triumph. She did fucking fantastic I might add. I mean, I didn't think that was possible.

And finally, with the last 100 metres of rocky downhill to go, and certainly the biggest fucking rocks on the steepest fucking incline, the direction of travel and direction of momentum disagreed and she went down on her left side, in rocks. I had a short break, and wondered how the fuck I was going to lift this fucking bike in the middle of fucking nowhere. I checked if anyone was on UHF just in case, nothing. No phone either.

Well I lifted the bike much easier than I thought, took a deep breath and looked down the hill. I knew I could walk it down to a flat spot (where the photo is taken) so I did. By now I was covered in sweat and worried about how much more downhill I had to go. I went for a short walk on easy terrain then decided to return to the bike to at least ride to the next scout area. Well then the road appeared in front of me and I sighed a huge RELIEF. I rode to Beaudesert to assess damage.

Some to the bike and a great big gash on my left leg.
