Here are things an app review engineer at Zapier might do in no particular order. List 5 things that are your most favorite to do and 5 things that are least favorite.

  • Dig into a bug in how the Zapier platform works, roll a fix, and deploy the code to production
  • Work for several weeks on a project to re-do the way the entire platform works
  • Dig through activity logs to troubleshoot a partner's broken scripting API code
  • Write and maintain developer documentation to make it easier for app developers
  • Analyze the app activation process to find inefficiencies
  • Manage third party developers as they create apps on our platform for partners
  • Pitch partners on featuring Zapier on their site, and communicating to their users about us
  • Run activation review sessions to ensure we're meeting a high quality standard for new apps
  • Fix a bug in an existing integration between Zapier and a partner API
  • Work with the product team to spec out a new feature based on feedback from developers
  • Respond to Zapier fans on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and other 3rd party sites
  • Write a blog post about how connecting with Zapier can improve customer retention
  • Act as a dedicated rep for a handful of key partners to ensure their success in connecting with Zapier
  • Work with people to figure out if Zapier can solve a particular integration challenge they have
  • Receive 10+ inbound emails per day and help them determine if Zapier is a fit for their technology and customers
  • Evaluate 5 new apps on the Zapier platform every day for correctness, ease of use, and adherence to API standards
  • Communicate with a partner how they can improve their API not just for Zapier, but for all their customers
