Alien Sandwich

items in front of you

jar is an object in front of you. It is tall and from above looks like a circle.

a jar has stuff in it. there can be either peanut butter, which is brown in color, or jelly, which is purple in color. peanut butter jar and jelly jar. a jar has three parts - the inner stuff is one, and the outer stuff is in two pieces: the top and the bottom. you can see the division between the two parts. the bottom is the part that is facing down, the top is facing up.

bag of bread is an object in front of you. it has two parts - an outer container and an inner material. the bag is the container and what is inside in the bread. there are many nearly-identical items that are all bread. they are individually called slices. a slice of bread is an individual item.

knife is another object in front of you. it is the only remaining object. it is silver in color and has the shape of a wide line. there are two ends to it handle and blade. the handle is the thicker end. the blade is the thinner end. a sandwich is an object that is made up of a number of ingredients, all of which are in front of you and listed above.

to make a sandwich:

  1. move your right hand so that it's next to the peanut butter jar and close your fingers so that it holds the bottom of the jar. keep them closed until told otherwise.
  2. move your left hand so that it is palm-down over the top of the same jar your other hand is holding. close the fingers of your left hand around the top of the jar and keep them that way. pivot your left hand counter-clockwise (so that your thumb travels toward your index finger), holding the top of the jar while turning. when you can't move your left hand left anymore release the fingers of your left hand. pivot your left hand to the right (so that your thumb travels away from your index finger) as far as it will go, palm-down above the jar your right hand is holding. when maximally pivoted, close the left hand fingers on the top of the jar again and pivot left hand left again. release fingers when maximally pivoted.
  3. repeat this process until the top of the jar and bottom of the jar are no longer connected (check this by attempting to pull the top up after every left-pivot with your left hand and fingers. when the top travels upward without the bottom going with it move on to the next step and keep your left fingers closed.
  4. release right fingers.
  5. move your right hand so that it's next to the jelly jar and close your fingers so that it holds the bottom of the jar. keep them closed until told otherwise.
  6. move your left hand so that it is palm-down over the top of the same jar your other hand is holding. close the fingers of your left hand around the top of the jar and keep them that way. pivot your left hand counter-clockwise (so that your thumb travels toward your index finger), holding the top of the jar while turning. when you can't move your left hand left anymore release the fingers of your left hand. pivot your left hand to the right (so that your thumb travels away from your index finger) as far as it will go, palm-down above the jar your right hand is holding. when maximally pivoted, close the left hand fingers on the top of the jar again and pivot left hand left again. release fingers when maximally pivoted.
  7. repeat this process until the top of the jar and bottom of the jar are no longer connected (check this by attempting to pull the top up after every left-pivot with your left hand and fingers. when the top travels upward without the bottom going with it move on to the next step and keep your left fingers closed.
  8. when the top is disconnected, move your arm to the left as far as it goes and release your left fingers. the top will fall down - this is normal.
  9. release right fingers and move right hand so that it is near bread bag. move left hand so that it is near bread bag.
  10. use left fingers to pinch a small section of the outer bag. use the right fingers to pinch another small section of the outer bag.
  11. pull both hands away from each other until the outer bag tears.
  12. use your right hand to move inside the bag and close your right fingers gently around a slice of bread.
  13. pull your right hand back toward you, stop about a foot away from your chest and release your right fingers.
  14. move your right hand inside the bread back again and gently close your right fingers around a slice of bread.
  15. pull your right hand back toward you, stop about a foot and a half away from your chest and release your right fingers.
  16. move your right hand over the knife handle and close your right fingers around this section. you may need to use the tips of the fingers to tip up and edge of the knife handle in order to close your fingers around it.
  17. move your left hand next to the peanut butter jar and close left fingers around it.
  18. move right hand so that the blade end of the knife enters the peanut butter jar from the opening above about 5 inches in.
  19. move right hand in two circles following the edges of the jar opening. stop.
  20. gently move right hand so that the knife blade exits the jar from the opening in the direction the handle is pointing.
  21. move right hand so that blade of knife (with peanut butter on it) rests on surface of closer slice of bread. move knife in two circles across surface of bread so that some peanut butter transfers from knife to bread.
  22. release left fingers and move left hand next to jelly jar. close left fingers around jelly jar.
  23. move right hand so knife enters opening of jelly jar blade-first about 5 inches.
  24. move right hand in two circles around edge of jelly jar opening.
  25. gently move right hand so knife blade exits the jar in the direction the handle is pointing.
  26. move right hand so blade gently rests on surface of further piece of bread.
  27. move right hand in two circles across the surface of further bread.
  28. move right hand as far as possible to the right and when there release right fingers so knife falls.
  29. release left fingers and move left hand near further piece of bread.
  30. move right fingers near close piece of bread. gently close fingers around edges of closer bread.
  31. gently close fingers around edges of further bread, lift up a few inches and rotate hand 180 degrees so that jelly faces down. position this slice directly over the closer slice.
  32. lower top slice until it gently touches bottom slice.
  33. release left fingers, release right fingers.

your sandwich is complete (we didn't put it on the plate.)
