recipe for sate sauce

Ingredients 4 persons | |

3 sjalotes / onions | |
2 cloves garlic | |
200 gram unsalted rauw peanuts | |
3 or more peppers (tawits? ) | |
1 tablespoon gula djawa (or brown sugar) | |
1 dl water | |
2 tablespoons ketjap manis ( sweet ) | |
1 "hapjespan" (saute pan) | |
sambal | |
Instructions | |

- Bake the peanuts in a "Wadjan" with generous amt of oil till brown | |
- let that cool down entirely | |
- peel the sjalotes and chop into thin strips | |
- peel the garlic | |
- remove stalks from the tawits and slice them finely | |
- mix/grind thoroughly all of the above with the gula djawa and peanuts in a grinder/vijzel (tjobek) | |
- add water + ketjap and a pinch of salt | |
- lightly heat the mixture, stir regularly | |
- when almost cooked; add in some sambal and ketjap + keep stirring | |
