Periodically, we will publish a new version of our Private Cloud product. When we do, we will notify our existing customers by email. You can also check under the "Package" session of the "Redbooth Manager" for newest versions of the product.

Prerequisites

Before performing an upgrade on a production instance the following prerequisites must be met:

  • Do a snapshot of the production VM. Additionally, make a backup of your virtual machine disks. In case the upgrade process fails a backup will allow you to recover quickly and safely. More about backups here.

  • Internet access is required for the VM, the upgrade may need to download third-party components not shipped within our package. E.g. Open Source products MariaDB, Elasticsearch, Redis etc.

  • The following IP/Ports must be whilelisted in your firewall. The upgrade process will connect to these to automatically download the upgrade packages and the release notes.

    • 54.231.11.122 Port 80
    • s3.amazonaws.com port 443
