Phil's Bios

I'm often asked to provide a bio, such as when speaking. I haven't been happy with what I've provided so far so I thought I'd try a few samples and see if I could get some feedback. :)

Bio 1 - the irreverent

Phil Haack is awful at writing speaker bios, hates referring to himself in the third person, but is good at doing what he's told. He works at GitHub bringing social coding, rainbows, and unicorns to .NET and Windows developers. Prior to GitHub, Phil worked at Microsoft shipping software such as ASP.NET MVC, NuGet, and other odds and ends.

Phil was a co-author of the infamous 4-forehead book on ASP.NET MVC and is a regular speaker at conferences around the world, but loves speaking at {{your conference here}} most of all!

Bio 2 - the odd

Phil Haack (yes, it's pronounced "hack") lives in a constant state of paradox. This sentence is not true. He works at GitHub bringing the power of social coding to .NET and Windows developers. Prior to GitHub, he worked at Microsoft working to bring open source ideals into product teams. He shipped several projects under an open source license, including one product that accepts external contributions. He still works on that project, NuGet, in his copious spare time.

Bio 3 - the traditional (aka outright bragging. I had to look at other bios for examples.)

Phil Haack works at GitHub working to make it better for .NET and Windows developers everywhere. Prior to GitHub, Phil was a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft responsible for shipping ASP.NET MVC, NuGet, among other projects. He was involved in shipping these projects under open source licenses.

Phil is a co-author of the popular Professional ASP.NET MVC series and regularly speaks at conferences around the world. He's also made several appearances on technology podcasts such as .NET Rocks, Hanselminutes, Herding Code, and The Official jQuery Podcast.

Bio 4 - removing the word senior

Phil Haack works at GitHub working to make it better for the .NET ecosystem. Prior to GitHub, Phil was a program manager at Microsoft responsible for shipping several projects including ASP.NET MVC and NuGet. Phil Haack has played a helpful role bringing best practices from other development ecosystems to .NET, including open source and test first development.

Phil is a co-author of the popular Professional ASP.NET MVC series. Phil speaks at a wide range of conferences and for some of the top .NET podcasts. Phil enjoys sharing as well as coding, which is probably why he's written his own blogging engine in his spare time.
