Please tell me who hosts and/or maintains these streams. Currently the Radio 1 Ottawa stream:

It's been this way for several days. I contacted CBC using a webform but no response so far.

It's very nice to be able to play the mp3 streams on my old Nokia N800, which has a very good sound. Thank you.
I assume that there are no mp3 streams URL-s for Ici Musique.

Hey, after a lot of reasearch, I've found a functional direct link to the stream of ICI Musique (not the one dedicated to Montréal, but this is irrelevant) which I'd like to share with you:

You can now copy and embed this link in your favourite media player. The transfer rate is 128 kbps, not for audiophiles, but enough for all those who love this radio station.

Thanks very much for finding the direct link to Ici Musique!  We love C'est si bon (music of 40-s, 50-s and 60-s, Saturdays 4-7pm EDT) and Le Temps d'une chanson Saturday morning. Same issue using VLC here. But, if it may help, these .m3u8 files work fine with standard Windows 11 Media Player.

Here's what I do :

Using Win11 Media player:

• Copy and paste the "Ici premiere MTl" m3u8 link in Chrome. Chrome asks for "open" or "save", i choose save the .u3u8 in a folder.
• right-click on the saved file, "open with" Windows Media Player : works fine. (using VLC, it plays for a few seconds).

Using VLC :

• Here again, I copy and paste the link in Chrome. Save the m3u8 file in a folder
• Open the m3u8 file with Notepad. Erase all the content of m3u8 but the first link line (**) and save it.
• With just one line in the new m3u8 file, right-click and "open with" VLC, it works very well.

** In other words, my new mtl.m3u8 file contains only that specific link:

https://rcavliveaudio.akamaized.net/hls/live/2006635/P-2QMTL0_MTL/adaptive_48/chunklist_ao.m3u8

Or even simpler, open the above link directly in VLC.

Hi, I did it !; Finally !; And I want share with everyone !

I wrote to a french technician who made a website about M3Us links and he wrote me back. It's working using Android application called "Transistor". Ok well I just saw that @nevillepark did already a post about his app :). I was using Video Download helper but it's not working anymore.

Here is the link for Transistor application : https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.y20k.transistor/

You can search for your favorite radio in the search engine and then at the bottom you can copy paste the M3U weblink and send it by mail. Then from the mail you can copy paste the M3U link in VLC.

I hope you will find your own radio.

But I still have the only few seconds working problem in VLC. But it's working fine in WMP.
