Fertilizing

Growth Phase

Re-pot into 300mm pots. Use the best potting mix you can find (Gardeners Friend Premium in TAS), mix in 1 litre of coarse perlite, for each 300mm pot.

When transplanted use 1/2 label rate of green Powerfeed to gently water WEEKLY.

Continue with the same brew, same interval until plants have doubled in height.

Then full strength green Powerfeed alternating with green Thrive (soluble powder) every FORTNIGHT.

Substitute Nitrosol for green Powerfeed 2 or 3 times during the "growth" phase, as it supplies Calcium & Sulphur, along with good amounts of NPK.

Flowering & fruiting phase

At flowering & during fruiting, lower nitrogen & higher Potassium are required to promote flowering & fruiting.

Substitute green Powerfeed with purple Powerfeed & green Thrive with purple Thrive.

Fertilize with these, alternating between the two, once per FORTNIGHT.

During this phase use WEEKLY foliar applications of full strength purple Powerfeed mixed with 1/2 label rate of YATES liquid potash. Best time to do this, is before sunrise on a cool cloudy day! (YATES in capitals as this is Citrate formulation. Use a 5 litre bottle type pressure sprayer to apply foliar fertilizer. Powerfeed is seaweed based & NOTHING helps plants cope better with unfavourable temperatures than the alginates in seaweed!

The Powerfeed foliar will also increase flowering & fruiting.

Watering

The other VITALLY important factor is DO NOT WATER TOO MUCH! Chillies HATE sitting wet constantly! It does not matter how much fertilizer you apply, if the potting mix is constantly wet, the plants will suffer badly! DO NOT water until a plant or two, begins to wilt!

Aphids

Growing Aphid repelling companion plants near chillies to reduce Aphid problems. Catnip & Marigolds are the best ones to grow.
