Assigning people to do stuff.

We've reached some conclusions in the past (like modifying room rules or making a /welcome message based on some criteria), and...that's it. If we say "X needs to be done", have people say "I'll do it", so we can at least guilt trip them.

In related news, the node fork of the bot should be live any day now! cries

room rules need contributors. I have no issue revisiting the page and doing the changes... but were those ever finalized? not just the rules but the helpful links etc.

rss feeds? should we remove/talk/add them at meetings? what about SMBC?

  • Room owners additions/deletions - I think Awal Garg is ready for primetime so I'll likely nominate him (he's also very active on a time zone the room usually gets messy at) - giving you a heads up.
  • rlemon reaching 300k messages
  • Room atmosphere general feeling.

@ralt I think discussing adding/removing them at meetings is probably a good Idea. I proposed one above.

Also for (re)visiting the feeds. SMBC found another hill to go down, but seeing JS content from other sites would be pretty cool.

Achievements: Fun idea, or ruining the spirit of the room?

Video/Audio meetings?
not like hangouts, but does anyone wanna get on a video/audio group chat during the meeting? Might be helpful, might be distracting with all of the "things" people draw on other people.

I'm fine with distractions. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Topic: on cap's oneboxing commands and auto-unboxing

I want to talk about oneboxing/unoneboxing commands, hopefully I make it to the meeting to discuss further but I think it's time we take things into our own hands on this one.

  • Thought#1: Provide a disclaimer and a link to a userscript/stylesheet that disables oneboxing in the room description until SE decides chat matters and we get a real toggle.
Any complaints from thereon are null and void, the answer will already be there.
  • Thought#2: Stop unoneboxing things programmatically, I really don't think it's necessary, if it really needs removed then an owner should be binning the message (users who don't want to see them should run the userscript)
  • Thought#3: Seriously, who made !!map? What benefit did that have.... Grumble grumble

Specialized canonicals page? Should we make our own a la room 11? Should we just use the tag wiki?

  • More personalized welcome messages?

@MadaraUchiha: Do people read the tag-wiki?

There's been a recent upsurge of feeding repeating help vamps. I've got a harsh message on a boot ready for two of them (you can guess who those are), but what do you think needs to be done?
