[poetry] virtualenv: error: argument --prompt: expected one argument

python3 -m poetry config --local virtualenvs.prompt null worked for me.

Problem is: virtualenv: error: argument --prompt: expected one argument

$ python3 -m poetry add shell-gpt
Creating virtualenv -dotfiles-vt9Uq9JI-py3.11 in /Users/tamakiii/Library/Caches/pypoetry/virtualenvs

virtualenv: error: argument --prompt: expected one argument

Setting VIRTUAL_ENV_DISABLE_PROMPT didn't worked for me

export VIRTUAL_ENV_DISABLE_PROMPT=1; python3 -m poetry add shell-gpt

Check your configuration before you make change

python3 -m poetry config --list
python3 -m poetry config --local --list
python3 -m poetry config virtualenvs.prompt
python3 -m poetry config --local virtualenvs.prompt

Change config (In my case, --local was the point)

$ python3 -m poetry config --local virtualenvs.prompt null
$ python3 -m poetry config --local virtualenvs.prompt
null

poetry add worked

$ python3 -m poetry add shell-gpt
Creating virtualenv -dotfiles-vt9Uq9JI-py3.11 in /Users/tamakiii/Library/Caches/pypoetry/virtualenvs
Using version ^0.7.3 for shell-gpt
