Southeast Region Pro Hunt 1 Wild Boar: Must use the Recurve Bow Hogzilla is a lbs lump of angry beast and must be taken down with the Recurve Bow. Pro Hunt 2 Whitetail Deer: A herd of Whitetail Deer are moving across a field of wheat with a few stands at either end. Head to the closest one and position yourself facing the direction of the herd. Pincushion is easily identified as the big male and will lag behind the females. If he is standing broadside, go for a lung shot; if he is facing you then aim for the spine. Northeast Region Pro Hunt 3 Caribou: The first part of this hunt is getting to the stand that was shown in the cutscene without spooking the herd across the river so creep along slowly and freeze if you alert one of them until it dies down. Once you are in the stand, the Caribou will begin to cross the river from the right. There will be females at the head of the pack followed by Double Shovel, you must bring him down before the females at the head of the pack walk into your cone of scent and raise the alarm. Pro Hunt 4 Moose: The wind also likes to change direction often so keeping yourself downwind without making too much noise is sometimes tough. Once you manage to set yourself down without alerting him, use the Moose Call to draw him closer to you whilst lying down in cover. Once you can get a visual on him, bring him down fast. Southwest Region Pro Hunt 5 Mule Deer: As is typical for Deer, the females will precede the males so let them pass by until Ghost shows up. He will be broadside so aim for just behind the shoulders and with him being so far away you should account for a very small drop in bullet trajectory, this is of course easier to calculate with the use of a stronger rifle scope so if your GC budget allows it, try to at least match the binocular zoom of x Pro Hunt 6 Pronghorn: Must use This hunt is all about the approach. Make your way slowly North, crouching as soon as you can hear calls and crawling if you alert a female. There are a few blinds on this hunt and you need to go past the first one and pull up slowly on the second, moving super slowly if you aroused suspicion on your way over. Once you are in cover, you can take up aim. Airplane will be the only buck in the herd and will likely be grazing between 50 and yards away. As always, aim for the vitals to ensure a clean and efficient kill which by now should be coming natural. Claim your trophy to close the hunt and claim a decent GC reward. Northwest Region Pro Hunt 7 Mark: King Roosevelt Elk Stipulations: Once the hunt begins, you will need to use your Elk Call just to get a bearing on him. Once done, make your way towards the trees and bushes where he is making sure you stay downwind. The call will not draw him in much but it is enough to at least get a decent visual allowing you a shot at him. It might take a couple of tries before you are able to get into such a scenario that he is fully visible without spooking him first and you have a good shot at a vital but once you do, take it and be ready to fire again if you missed the vitals; the Compound Bow takes no reloading so you can get a second shot away before he makes a run for it. Pro Hunt 8 Mark: Scarface Grizzly Bear Stipulations: As such, I would recommend simply creeping down to the stream and then splashing about to provoke him. He will charge at you so stand with your rifle drawn and keep it trained in his direction and wait for him to come bounding out of the bushes. This will give you time to reload and get another round off and thanks to the punching power of the gun and bullets you will have done heavy damage and with any luck, hit a lung. Back away in case you need to squeeze off another round and let fortune take its course. If one of your shots hit a vital, even the stomach, you should be okay. If you miss, get savaged or for any other reason need to restart, just do the same again; it wont take many tries before one of your bullets lands a vital. King Of The Southeast Finish all regular hunts in the Southeast region. The Southeast is the first region available in Campaign Mode. There are 10 Regular Hunts in this region with varying types of prey, time limits and prerequisites. As far as time limits are concerned, none are really too unforgiving unless you mess up your shots or keep alerting your prey, and for reference I worked out that an in game hour is roughly 10 minutes long. Pressing makes you crouch, and holding it down makes you crawl on your front. As soon as you hear an animal call, go into crouch and as soon as you have a visual, start to crawl. When stalking prey with your binoculars and you position your reticule over an animal, press to tag it. If you then spook the animal or miss a vital organ with a gunshot and it makes a run for it, you can track it by following the small hoof icon on your compass. When taking up a firing position and taking aim, squeeze the button about half way; this steadies you and holds your breath for a cleaner shot. It also displays on the animal which area the target the bullet will penetrate. Always press when you approach an animal and view the direction of the wind and how far it is carrying your scent. If possible, always take the opportunity to use a break or stand indicated by a white square on its axis with a dot in the middle. When hunting, bring up the map and bring the cursor to rest over whatever animal icon you are hunting to bring up a clock face dial showing when that particular species is usually present there, indicated by yellow segments. The zeroes will be different numbers and you can add them together to get the total weight. If you need to kill two types of an animal to pass the stage and see a small herd or even just a couple together that are both males, tag one using your binoculars and kill the other one. This way you can claim your trophy and simply follow the compass to find the other one instead of having to go off and stalk a completely new part of territory, especially handy during the more time restrictive hunts. Combine all of the above and it will get you through pretty much every single hunt. Acquiring the Taste The Hunt: Must use Recurve Bow with Grain Broadhead Time Limit: Must use 4x Scope Time Limit: Must use 4x Rifle Scope Time Limit: Must use 12 Gauge Pump Action with 12 Gauge Slug Time Limit: King Of The Northeast Finish all regular hunts in the Northeast region. Big Pile Of Small Hunt small game in campaign mode. Small game consists of 3 species of animal and they are all conveniently found in each region of the map. Fox Coyote Rabbit They are not marked on your map, neither are they able to be tracked. You can not tag them, and there is no call you can use to manipulate them to coming towards you; they are basically a somewhat random element. Having said that, there are certain areas where they seem to be more abundant, and camping in these spots with plenty of bullets can quickly start to rack up the kill count. In and around the spawn location you will find rabbit holes which you can stand over with your shotgun poised and just wait for them to pop out, and a good helping of foxes too. It should be noted though that you need not kill any certain quota of each animal, you can slay rabbits or 67 or each, whatever works for you. Collector Complete your collection in trophy viewer with all animal types. You will unlock this when you complete all of the Pro Hunts, see One With the Stars for more info. It should be said though that despite it mentioning your trophy viewer, you do not have to view your trophy collection for this to pop; it will unlock as soon as you complete Pro Hunt 8. Gun Powder Buy all ammunition types. For every weapon you buy, there is an upgraded ammunition available to purchase. To buy all variants will cost you no less than 82, GC but on the bright side, the Compound and Recurve Bow use the same arrows so you kind of get one free. You will be obligated to buy many of these upgrades but I would recommend doing so anyway as Boat Tail BT and Polymer Tip rounds etc cause untold damage and are well worth the money. Your trophy will unlock as you buy the last remaining ammo variant. Optician Buy all scopes. To buy every scope in the game is going to cost you a cool , GC. Because of the GC involved, this is very likely going to be your last trophy for the platinum so expect to be farming a lot for the closing stages of the game. Your trophy will unlock as you buy the last remaining scope variant. Arsenal Buy all firearms and bows. By the time you finish all of the Regular and Pro Hunts there wont be very much left for you to buy in this department; in fact because of stipulations on what gun to use in many of the Regular Hunts, the only guns left to buy will be the. To buy all firearms in the game will cost you , GC. Call Of The Wilderness Successfully use any type of call 25 times. Calls are objects you can purchase and are often an invaluable tool to complete a successful hunt. There three calls available, the Deer Call, the Elk Call and the Moose Call. To buy all 3 will set you back 28, GC. To use a call, hold down on the directional pad. If you are in the vicinity of a male animal of the same species as the call you are using that is not in a state of alert, it will call back to you and make its way towards you. For best results, track down a hunt and head for the nearest blind or stand. Once you are in position, use the call to draw the attention of your mark and lure him in. The good thing about the calls is only the males respond to it so if you are near a group of prey and use the call and nothing responds, you know its made up of females and you can move on. And just for clarity, you can use the call more than once on the same target and it will register as a successful call. Hold down to equip your binoculars and scan the area for prey. You can then track the animal wherever it goes either on the map or by referring to your compass at the top of the screen. You should get plenty of these as you progress and will almost certainly have this trophy by the time you complete all Regular and Pro Hunts. A couple of things to say about pulling off a successful shot is to always try and get broadside of your target and aim just behind the shoulders, holding down half way will hold your breath and show a red marker on the animal where the bullet will land; use this as a guide before firing. This combo is like an artillery round and is guaranteed to punch a big enough hole in anything you come across to ensure bullet penetration is not an issue. Surgeon Hunt 10 big game animals by shooting them in the spine. For this trophy, you simply need to pull off 10 big game kills by shooting your targets in the spine. As with the double lung shot trophy, success is heavily based on your position to your target before you fire. I found that I was able to pull off most of my spine shots from a stand up in various canopies and using an appropriate call. As the animal was walking towards me, I was able to aim straight down the spine, again holding my breath before I fired. If you cant use a stand however, I found that aiming for the neck worked a charm, obviously not the throat area but the vertebrae running down the back of the neck as this is also considered as spinal damage. If you need any of these after finishing up all Regular and Pro Hunts, refer to the last paragraph in the 10 x 2 trophy description to clean up. Patience Hunt 15 trophies from any shooting rest or stand. Once your bag your 15th kill from a stand or blind, the trophy will pop. Bloodhound Collect animal tracks. This will come real fast. The description can be interpreted as follow the tracks of animals when in fact it is merely to collect that just means follow a track for steps. Just rack up and your trophy will pop. Vampire Collect blood spots. Similar to Bloodhound , the description could be mistaken for follow the blood trail of animals, but it is actually for following separate little pools of blood. When you land a successful shot on a target that did not hit either the spine or heart both of these are instant kills , your wounded target will run for it. Head over to the impact zone to see the first spilling of blood and follow the glowing red markers in the direction of your mark. For every little trail you walk past, one is added to the count. Gears Of Hunt Buy all accessories for. You will need to buy at least one. The thing to do is bring the Elk Call and. Once the male is about yards away, aim past him and slay a female on the hill. The male will turn and run for it, hold your breath to slow time down a little and nail him in the back. The first kill is key, you have to land a vital on the female otherwise you have to start again. Once you bring them both down the trophy will unlock, you do not need to go and claim the trophies but you can if you want to. I would say for every 5 attempts, only once would I get charged so be prepared for this. Anyway, once you are being charged, you need to get going fast as you only have a few seconds to react. Once you land enough good shots, the damage, though none of it vital, when combined will be too much to bear! Eagle Eye Hunt a big game from more than yards with any 2x scope. Pick an Open Hunt pretty much anywhere in the Southwest Region and equip your. Now, proceed to the closest stand and use your binoculars to scan the landscape, you wont see any of the white vibrating noise alerts you see when following trails, they will all be too far away. When you spot something, your binoculars will tell you how far away it is. Squeeze off a round and hope for the best. Sniper Hit any big game from more than yards. This trophy is relatively easy and should come way before you finish Campaign Mode. Your weapon, ammo and scope are up to you here so an Open Hunt is an ideal situation to use this to your advantage. A good place to do this is along the River Gorge in the Southeast Region. If you see nothing, wait a little while, maybe hunt some small game or whatever and head back; there will be something there sooner or later. The trophy will unlock when the bullet connects with the beast; note that it does not have to be a vital, the trophy is for a successful hit, not a kill. Double Feather Shoot two birds with one Shotgun shot. This is easy enough. Bring a 12 Gauge and Birdshot Ammo along to any Open Hunt anywhere on the entire map and just wander about. Birds are everywhere and nowhere; they just fly up out of trees and bushes when you are passing and are no kind of threat. Rarely there will be a single bird but mostly it is either 2 or 3 at a time; all you have to do is remain vigilant and when you see them, pull your shotgun and fire. Shashlik Hunt any small game with any bow from more than 70 yards. Though you can pick this off if you happen upon some small game whilst out and about on a Regular Hunt armed with a bow; it can be swept up easily in an Open Hunt in pretty much any part of any region. I got this in Day River Southwest Region in an Open Hunt with the Compound Bow. The vast expanses of almost desert like terrain help tremendously with this one. I found that I was able to stand waiting until a Coyote ran past me. I followed it until it started to just run back and forth between the same two points on the horizon, because of this, I was able to anticipate where it would come to rest and I was able to position myself far enough away and pick out a perfect shot to bring it down. The trophy will pop as soon as the shot connects as small game are all instant kills. Heart Breaker Shoot a Grizzly in the heart. Though you could get this in any Regular Hunt with a little luck, I found that I had a much better rate of success in Open Hunts. Pick an area in the Northwest Region where the grizzly population is heavy and equip your. Do the usual thing until you track down a Grizzly then carefully plan your next moves. What I did was position myself so I was either face on or directly behind the bear, creeping around to position myself ideally without giving myself away. I would then close in to about 40 yards away and draw my rifle so I was looking through the scope, and I would then hit to come out of creeping mode and deliberately make noise to alert the bear. It will rear up on its hind legs and roar. I would hold my breath while this happened and aim bang centre of the chest before firing. I had a little trouble with this as I kept just missing by millimetres and had to restart which is easier than going off to find another bear by the way.
