n the Punk cake wall: | |
For the cake | |
110g Self raising Flour
110g Caster Sugar | |
110g Butter | |
(each could be 4oz if your into that sort of thing)
2 (fresh) eggs | |
Approx 75ml Punk IPA | |
Way too much red food colouring (optional)
For the Icing | |
75g Butter | |
200g icing sugar | |
1 teaspoon cocoa powder to darker slightly.
Enough Punk IPA to get consistency required
Mix the cake ingredients together with the punk IPA in last, in a mixer or by hand... I prefer by hand (well using a spoon)
Bake in a shallow tray (approx 1 inch deep yes I know I'm mixing metric and imperial) for approx 20 mins at 180 degrees centigrade or until set.
Once cake it fully cooler cut into brick shape pieces approx 1 inch by 2 inches (if you want bricks that is)
To make the icing ensure that the butter is at room temperature and soft and slowly mix in the icing sugar and cocoa powder.
Once this is fully mixed slowly add the Punk IPA until the consistence you want is desired. If you add too much just put a bit more icing in.
Once the icing is ready spread a thin layer int he board or plate and start stacking the bricks however you want.. patience may be required (deliberately left messy for the DIY look) |
