Yhg1s making #python an intolerable place for a community with a supposed code of conduct
I keep having a problem where python seems to “go to the
background” on windows. subprocess.Popen.wait() returns
immediately even thought it’s actually still running and if I
invoke a python process in a .cmd file, the same thing happens

zenwryly: what are you launching with subprocess.Popen?

the same thing as from a cmd line? Then that program starts something
else and exits itself. [04:19]

Yhg1s: other python processes, buildout processes in this case but
I’ve seen this with other processes
these programs don’t exit under Linux
so they do something else under Linux.
(also, process semantics are different under Linux, so even if they
don’t appear to do something different, they still can.) [04:20]

Yhg1s: thanks for the attempt at help, but I think I prefer actual
help from someone else [04:21]
I created a test virtualenv environment for python. If I want to get
rid of it, do I have to just delete it or is there some uninstall
option?
zenwryly: that’s nice. PErhaps you should show u some actual code.
zenwryly: because the vague descriptions aren’t good enough to say
anything more than I’ve said.
Yhg1s: please move one
zenwryly: please adjust your attitude.

Aufwind: yes, you can just delete the directory.
Yhg1s, Thanks!
Yhg1s: note your aggression as compared to this measured tone and
reconsider where adjustment is needed

Hey man. I'm having issues with this guy too. He was gaslighting me in channel, and I took it to pm to warn him about the seriousness of doing that, so he permabans me, lies about me to the other ops saying i threatened him, and im still permabanned. His name is Thomas Wouters, he's a developer at google, so the other ops are afraid to disagree with him about anything because he can make their careers. I've got contacts at the Python Software Foundation which oversees his behaviour if you would care to reach out. punches.chris@gmail.com I can attest that this person should be responsible for nothing that any other person depends on.

Update on this: The PSF is giving this guy full backing. I'm not sure what the politics are but it's been over a year and my ban is still in place. Apparently he can just blacklist people from the public channel and the others will go with it.
