Example 1

She could not help but giggle when she saw him chomp on empty air. It was not that she was trying to be mean or cruel in any sense of the word(s). Dylan very much wanted Sitka to succeed. He was her pack mate, and therefor her friend, so she had not reason to want him to fail. Except perhaps for her own amusement. He finally did manage to catch one, and if she had hands, she would have clapped them for all to hear.

His growl made her a slight bit wary, and his... prediction (demand?) that they would some day bring back larger prey was a bit unsettling to the girl. “You seem so sure of yourself, Sitka. Is that a male thing, or just a you thing?” she asked, genuinely curious. While she knew males were more showoffs in general and tended to be a bit more commanding, never had she seen it so profoundly obvious. Perhaps he was just a proud wolf.

“Anyway, I think bringing back some larger prey would get us some recognition from the leaders, if that is what you were thinking.” And really, Dylan was all about impressing Jazz and Roheryn. It gave her purpose, and she liked that. In the short time that she had been a loner, she had lost her way. Now that she was with Wintersun, she knew exactly what she was supposed to be doing.

Example 2

As others arrived, the Theta was pleased as punch to realize that she knew nearly all of them. D'Artagnan was the one she felt closest to, and was glad to find that he wanted to take a seat beside her. She nodded her head (of course), and watched as the others trickled in. Next was Sitka, who Dylan also recognized, but found to be a bit standoffish. After that came a dark-furred wolf whom she had yet to speak with, and the girl made a mental note to do so very soon. Monet, the girl who could scare away birds, arrived to take a seat next to the one Dylan did not yet know. And last (but certainly not least) came Ranvier. Dylan gave him a soft smile, and then returned her attention to Jazz, who looked as if he was preparing to speak.

Dylan wondered why it had "been awhile" since Wintersun's last meeting, but she kept these thoughts to herself. The news that Roheryn had become a leader and was now mates with Jazz... was not really news to Dylan, though she smiled in the Delta's direction anyway. Dylan tucked the names of the allied packs neatly into her brain storage. She had already made contact with Kindred, and planned on meeting the other nearby packs sooner rather than later.

When Roheryn spoke of needing a medic, Dylan cocked her head to one side. While she knew next to nothing about medicine, she did have a whole lot of gusto, and would likely seek out Roheryn to see if she could be of help.

With nothing to add and no announcements to make, Dylan awaited to either be dismissed or hear more from her leaders.

Example 3

Dylan grinned a knowing grin when he replied, thinking that his words were quite true. Bird meat was certainly better than no meat; she could attest to that fact. She nodded in his direction when he suggested they get started, leading the way once more to where she had noticed the tree rats earlier. Her ear turned backward as he spoke again, and it took her a moment to realize that he was answering her previous question with more sincerity than before. Satisfied by his answer, she merely let a faint smile pass over her features before getting back to the task at hand.

Out of the corner of her eye, Dylan spotted one picking at something on the ground. It was not too far off, and she ducked behind a tree so that she would be less likely to be seen. Her focus fully on the squirrel, she became unaware of where Sitka was or what he was doing. When the time felt right, she leapt forward and pounced upon her prey, teeth clamping down and feeling the breakage of bones in her jaws. “One down, several more to go,” she mused to herself.

Only when she had caught her first did she look up to see where Sitka was.
