Sony (Ericsson) XPERIA Mini Pro SK17i Android 4.0.2 hard reset sequence

To erase the contents in the SD card

  • Erase the SD card (Storage > Erase SD Card)
  • Remove the SD card from the phone and go into the safe mode

Go into the Safe Mode

  • Turn off the power (and powercycle by removing the battery if needed)
  • Reboot by pressing the power button and volume down (-) button together (keep pressing the two buttons until the reboot is completed)

To erase the data in the phone

  • Boot into the Safe Mode
  • Uninstall all the anti-virus software
  • Delete all accounts (Accounts & Sync > back button for all associated accounts) Without this you cannot erase the data
  • Erase all internal data (Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset Phone > Erase Everything)
