Col. Tom Scott is a military programmer who takes charge of a software development company staffed by a group of mentally insane developers situated in a secluded bank on South 3rd Street in Philadelphia. Among Scott's many eccentric employees is Capt. Randi Curtshaw (Curt Howard), who believes that he is a troubled astronaut in the midst of an alien uprising. Although Scott's own grasp on sanity is questionable, he manages to engage Curtshaw in a series of thoughtful conversations about computer science and crocheting that deeply affect the lives of both men.
