Totally Not A Cop Out

Portland-based release manager, Curt Howard, finds himself finishing writing his release announcement at 10:30PM. Sleepily, Howard "phones it in" just before heading to bed. The next morning he is stunned to find his inbox filled with complaints from hundreds of die hard fans of his bi-monthly announcement. Stricken with grief, Howard scales a local mountain. At the summit he finds a small, talking dog. The dog tells Howard to hike back down the mountain because the dog is hungry and would like a snack. Howard refuses, noting that the dog is currently sitting on a bag of perfectly fine dog food. The dog concedes and, reluctantly, eats the dog food which is already at the top of the mountain. Howard doesn't feel better about his weak announcement effort or the interaction with the dog.
