We observe in nature that electric charge can come in varying quantities, both positive and we observe that like charges repel, whereas opposite charges attract. Intuitively, you can understand them with the example of two children (as the 30 Dec 2015 Opposite partial charges attract one another, and, if two polar molecules are orientated so that the opposite partial charges on the molecules are closer together The balls are attracted because opposite charges attract. If we make the second ball negative too, then both balls will have excess electrons and the same charges will repell. If both balls are made positive again, same charges repel. In contrast to the attractive force between two objects with opposite charges, two objects that are of like charge will repel each other. That is, a positively charged object will exert a repulsive force upon a second positively charged object. Objects with like charge repel each other. Some insulating materials become electrically charged when they are rubbed together. Charges that are the same repel, while unlike charges attract. 16 Apr 2015 subreddit:subreddit: find submissions in "subreddit"; author:username: find submissions by "username"; site:example.com: find submissions The north side of a magnet attracts the south side of a magnet. Two charged bodies with the same polarity can often attract one another if they're in play it might overcome charge repulsion. A black hole will suck in like charges for example.. their common charge will not save them! unlike charges attract Fundamental amount of charge: Charge of a single electron: e Example 23.7 from the text book: Electric field due to a charged Rod.
