jQuery expert with RoR experience

We are looking for a senior jQuery engineer (2+ years on hard jQuery problems) who really loves a beautiful and polished application.

If you are excited about the new Silicon Valley trend towards gamification, and love working with other great engineers, this is the perfect project for you.

Our engineers have experience with Jquery and ajax. But we are looking for someone who can focus on our most difficult front-end technical problems, and can develop cool (and production ready) features with our UI/UX technical designer.

We have smaller (but still hard) issues needing to be addressed for our march release, and have larger feature development and optimization jquery projects for our june release.

What we need you to take lead in:

  • More sophisticated ajax feature integration, to make the user experience more dynamic.
  • Plugin compatibility issues (such as tab and tooltip plugin conflicts that need fixing or re-writing).
  • Ff/safari/crome/ie7/ie8 cross compatibility issues (mostly relating to ajax). With ie6 now down below 5% and dropping, and none of our users using it, we've happily dropped support for ie6.
  • Re-packaging existing jquery code into better, more clearly understood functions/libs for better maintainability and reuse for everyone’s pleasure.
  • Loading complex tooltips/layovers after the initial page load, with less html redundancy and more json. Requires Ajax and some experience with Rails, mostly with js views, controllers, and routes.
  • Some front-end test automation work.
  • General reductions in the js footprint (optimizing selectors, reducing the # of listeners, etc.).

You must:

  • Have 2+ years experience on high-end jquery implementations.
  • Maintain your rails developer environment (To help you, we have developer documentation for both the PC and Mac).
  • Use GitHub, understand branches, and other source management practices.
  • Believe that life is much better with a bug tracking system.
  • Be able to share examples of your most polished work and show contributions to open source projects.
  • Be the kind of person who can answer jquery questions on stack overflow.

Please email ken@recipro.com for immediate consideration. thanks!
