In an alternate 1985 Philadelphia, costumed developers are part of everyday life. When one of his former coworkers is murdered, masked programmer Tomschach (Tom Scott) uncovers a plot to yank all past and present releases of his software, Workarea. As he reconnects with his retired team, only one of which has true powers, Tomschach glimpses a far-reaching conspiracy involving their shared past and catastrophic consequences for ecommerce's future.
