1. Problem and opportunity for improvement.
Problem: Laszlo and me could've refactored more and not tried to do the visualisation extension which would have led to a better final project.
Opportunity: This is another reminder of how crucial refactoring is and how important it is to lookthrough the project in its final form multiple times before submission.
2. Towards the begining of this project github and its usage hadn't clicked for me. I eventuall figured out how to manuever github effieciently and
| |
effectively but I could've asked for more help from Laszo earlier and I still need to habitualize checking which branch I'm in before starting to workd
| |
and definetly before entering any git commands. |
Skills that Change Lives
Intro: Everyone wants to be able to make a better life for themselves
Claim: English is to developing countries what coding is within the U.S.
Facts: | |
Those who know english have a higher standard of living and those who know
Causation is hard to prove because while those who know english make more money it is also likely that those with money invest in english
As countries develop they go from agricultural to industrial to service based economies
Services based economies have the most interpersonal interactions and knowing a common language greatly reduces transaction costs
English is the first step to learning anything for almost no money
