At the offices of the Independent Trust Company (I T C), that rings a bell, you find Sherman Stone.

"Oh yes. I know Charles Jones. He is a large policy holder.", Stone informs me.
"You heard he died in his home?", I ask.
"Yes. What a relief.", Stone replies.
"What's that supposed to mean?", I ask indignantly.
"Well he had a three million dollar policy.", says Mr. stone.
"And I guess your company is upset about paying such a large amount."
"Oh no. The policy DOES NOT pay in the event of a suicide. My boss is very happy. Especially since the policy is only six months old!". Stone stated with an air of relief.
"Who is named as the beneficiary on that policy?", I ask, suspecting I know the answer.
"I cannot give you that kind of information."
"It doesn't matter now since the police have declared it a suicide.", I say in a matter-of-fact tone.
After a bit of a hesitation, "Oh. I suppose you're right. Let's see." "Ah here it is! It was Elizabeth Jones, his wife. Do you know her?"
"Yeah. I sure do."
