Aim of the experiment

To identify animals based on their morphology.

Materials required

Specimen: ascaris, leech, earthworm, prawn, silkmoth, snail, starfish

Observation

The purpose of this study was to investigate and identify the animal based on the morphology. Several set of characteristics helps us to identify an animal through careful observation and writing down to help in its classification. Following are the animals studied in this experiment:

AIM OF THE EXPERIMENT

To form Copper Sulphate crystals

MATERIALS REQUIRED

Impure Copper sulphate, bunsen burner, beaker, conical flask, glass rod, water, filter paper, water bath, tripod stand, wire gauge

OBSERVATION

Aim of the Experiment

To measure the diameter of a small cylinder using Vernier callipers.

APPARATUS REQUIRED

Vernier callipers, small cylinder

Observation and Calculation

1. What did the narrator planned to do? What perparations did he made for it?
> The narrator planned a round-the-world voyage to duplicate the voyage made by Captain James Cook 200 years ago.
To prepare for the trip, the narrator and his wife practiced their seafaring skills for the last 16 years and tested their ship 'Wavewalker' in the roughest weather they could find.
2. Describe the boat which was made for undertaking the voyage.
> To undertake the voyage, a boat named 'Wavewalker' was made which was a 23-meter, 30-ton wooden-hulled ship.
3. How long did the narrator planned his voyage to last?
> The narrator expected the voyage to last for three years.

Aim of the Experiment

To measure the diameter of a small cylinder using Vernier callipers.

APPARATUS REQUIRED

Vernier callipers, small cylinder

Theory

Aim of the experiment

To measure internal diameter and depth of a given beaker using Vernier callipers and hence find its volume.

Apparatus required

Vernier callipers, beaker

Theory

Aim of the Experiment

To measure the diameter of a given wire with a screw gauge.

Apparatus and Material Required

Screw gauge, metallic wire
