Insert the USB cable and maybe it automatically prompts the software centre and shows option to install foo2zjs and hplip.
Be careful and choose only the hplip one not both. If you installed foozjs uninstall it.

If you are in any other OS try installing hplip for that OS from the repos or get from sourceforge (https://sourceforge.net/projects/hplip/).

After successfully installing hplip:
- Open command line and run sudo hp-setup go through the process 
- When it asks for the plugin file don’t download it through that terminal,
- instead download separately from this link https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/plugins.
- Provide the path and let it install then once completed it should work as expected.
