Overview: Gameplay restrictions based on a permanent record = total experience earned.
 
Gameplay restriction example:
-you cannot enter this door with less than 50,000 lifetime xp
-you cannot use /fly with less than 100,000 lifetime xp earned
 
Details:
In Minecraft when you gain exp you die when you lose it.
