What role does empathy play in your life and how has it helped you?

Through the years, empathy has always played an important role in both my personal and professional life. Being a strong empathizer has led to more meaningful and stronger bonds with all sorts of people in my life- my family, my friends, my co-workers, casual acquaintances, etc. Every encounter with another human, no matter how small, should count as much as possible. Displaying empathy at all times with people leads to a better connection right from the get-go, and I find that these types of connections last much longer, particularly with people who know how to display it right back. I try to live as rich of a life as possible, and being an empathetic person is a key factor in that.

How does empathy help you build better software?

Empathy can be a great contributor to building better software because of its role in being open to new / foreign ideas, collaboration, and feedback. Without empathy, there

What is your greatest strength and how do you know?

My greatest strength would have to be my ability to be a lover and an empathizer towards other humans. Knowing and accepting this side of myself is most likely what initally drew me to customer service years ago, and why I stuck with it for so long. Even when faced with a seemingly challenging type of person, I think it's almost fun and accomplishing when you show them decent kindness and empathy, and you see them immediately break out of whatever sort of barrier they had drawn up. When you get through to another person like that, and make that special connection, it's hard to just abandon that feeling. Doing this with customers day after day in the coffee shops I've worked in leads to amazing, long-standing relationships with the community, and the building of a regular customer bas
