Multi-Layer, Multi-Stage: Spring Boot application with Docker.

Overview

Spring Boot applications can run within a container by Multi-Layer based approach. Each layer may contain different parts of the application such as dependencies, source code, resources and even snapshot dependencies.

In the other hand, with Multi-Stage Build approach, any application can be built at a separate image from the final image that will contain the runnable application.

Solution for 'ssh: connect to host github.com port 22: Connection timed out' error
$ git clone git@github.com:xxxxx/xxxx.git my-awesome-proj
Cloning into 'my-awesome-proj'...
ssh: connect to host github.com port 22: Connection timed out
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.
$ # This should also timeout
$ ssh -T git@github.com
ssh: connect to host github.com port 22: Connection timed out
$ # but this might work

Async constructors for JavaScript
// In JavaScript, constructors can only be synchronous right now. This makes sense
// from the point of view that a constructor is a function that returns a newly
// initialized object.
//
// On the other hand, it would sometimes be very handy, if one could have async
// constructors, e.g. when a class represents a database connection, and it is
// desired to establish the connection when you create a new instance.
//
// I know that there have been discussions on this on StackOverflow & co., but
// the so-far mentioned counter arguments (such as: doesn't work as expected

Redirecting GitHub pages after a repository move

Redirecting GitHub Pages after a repository move

The problem

You have a repository, call it alice/repo. You would like to transfer it to the user bob, so it will become bob/repo.

However, you make heavy use of the GitHub Pages feature, so that people are often accessing https://alice.github.io/repo/. GitHub will helpfully redirect all of your repository stuff hosted on github.com after the move, but will not redirect the GitHub Pages hosted on github.io.

The solution
