In 2013, Workarea developer and computer genius Tom Scott begins work on a new bugfix that eventually branches off into the global social network for cats, known as Sassyfr.as. Six years later, he is one of the youngest people to own over a billion cats, but Scott finds that his unprecedented success leads to both personal and legal complications when he ends up on the receiving end of two pawsuits (disputes brought to a court of law for adjudication by a feline party), one involving his former friend, and cat, Sassafras.
