Solution for mysql Warning: Using a password on the command line interface can be insecure
# Let us consider the following typical mysql backup script:
mysqldump --routines --no-data -h $mysqlHost -P $mysqlPort -u $mysqlUser -p$mysqlPassword $database
# It succeeds but stderr will get:
# Warning: Using a password on the command line interface can be insecure.
# You can fix this with the below hack:
credentialsFile=/mysql-credentials.cnf
echo "[client]" > $credentialsFile
echo "user=$mysqlUser" >> $credentialsFile
echo "password=$mysqlPassword" >> $credentialsFile

PHP-FPM log to syslog
/etc/php5/fpm/php-fpm.conf
error_log = syslog
syslog.ident = php-fpm
This will log to syslog PHP-FPM stuff that usually gets logged to /var/log/php5-fpm.log and is not that interesting:
... php-fpm[3537]: [NOTICE] fpm is running, pid 3537
... php-fpm[3537]: [NOTICE] ready to handle connections
... php-fpm[3537]: [NOTICE] Finishing ...

Nginx FastCGI cache configuration example.

Nginx FastCGI cache

Example /etc/nginx/nginx.conf using FastCGI (e.g. to PHP-FPM) with FastCGI cache enabled. This will capture returned data and persist it to a disk based cache store for a configurable amount of time, great for robust full page caching.

Will need to create a directory to hold cache files, for the example given here that would be:

$ sudo mkdir -p /var/cache/nginxfastcgi
$ chown www-data: /var/cache/nginxfastcgi

Addon for using gravity forms with a bootstrap based development such as the roots.io theme for WordPress. I specifically wrote this for a roots theme and it's based on this post http://roots.io/style-gravity-forms-with-bootstrap/ by Ben Word.This goes one step further and provides support for some native gravity forms style declarations for for…

This is my template for using Masonry 3 with Bootstrap 3. For those of you who follow this gist a lot has changed since Bootstrap 2.
