Use the commands below to increase the key repeat rate on macOS beyond the possible settings via the user interface. The changes aren't applied until you restart your computer.
# Hello, and welcome to makefile basics.
# | |
# You will learn why `make` is so great, and why, despite its "weird" syntax,
# it is actually a highly expressive, efficient, and powerful way to build
# programs. | |
# | |
# Once you're done here, go to
# http://www.gnu.org/software/make/manual/make.html
# to learn SOOOO much more. |
In case anyone else wants to play with Zig on webassembly, here's what you need to do to make it work on a mac today.
You'll need LLVM to output to the WASM target. This has just been added by default in trunk, so if LLVM >7 is available, you might be able to just brew install llvm
.
If you have wasm support already you should see:
$ llc --version
$ git clone https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/tools/depot_tools.git
$ nano ~/.zshrc
path=('/path/to/depot_tools' $path)
You can use it the same as you do with other yjs providers, but you have to pass it a socket which can be created with someting like this:
// set the peer id
const peerId = window.localStorage.getItem('peerId') ?? (await Encryption.createId())
window.localStorage.setItem('peerId', peerId)
// set the signing keys
const keySeed = window.localStorage.getItem('keySeed') ?? createId()
The prep-script.sh
will setup the latest Node and install the latest perf version on your Linux box.
When you want to generate the flame graph, run the following (folder locations taken from install script):
sudo sysctl kernel.kptr_restrict=0
# May also have to do the following:
# (additional reading http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/14227/do-i-need-root-admin-permissions-to-run-userspace-perf-tool-perf-events-ar )
sudo sysctl kernel.perf_event_paranoid=0
