Remember those names that were suffocatingly prevalent during your schooling days? During my time, it was the throngs of Jessicas, swarms of Ashleys, gaggles Jennifers, etc. I was curious to see the rise and fall of the girl names most popular during my youth. Additionally, I wanted to see how they compared to my name, Mollie - or the more commonly used spelling, Molly.

I found this interesting for two reasons.

1. It shows the stylish and trendy nature of the most popular names, with their distinct rises and falls.
2. It proves that I am, in fact, a unique snowflake (at least in comparison). :)

This viz allows you to button between each of the four datasets in Anscombe's quartet. Includes enlarged circles upon hover, a rainbow color scale for the circles, and delayed transitions between datasets.

This chart was created for a talk / workshop given at CodeHer Conference in Washington D.C. in 2017. You can find additional information and slides from the talk in this repository.

This scatter / line chart shows the ufo sightings count per month between 2000 and 2016. It includes the following interactions:

• On hover, circle radius doubles and text appears showing the count associated with that data point. Additionally all other circles become more transparent when a circle is being hovered over. After hover, all circles go back to normal.
• Upon clicking a year button, the chart will transition to display data from that particular year.
