Rails i18n framework for your meta tags

Rails i18n framework for your meta tags

Here is a convenient method for page titles and other meta tags.

One common solution is to use "yield" and some kind of helpers that would call content_for (like in this Railscasts).

The problem is that for Search Engines Optimization, you should change all your meta tags for every page to avoid duplicate content, and call your helpers on every page...

This workaround uses the i18n framework and tries to find the good tags depending on the page you are, so you don't have to call any helper by default.

Friendly URLs in Rails

Friendly URLs

By default, Rails applications build URLs based on the primary key -- the id column from the database. Imagine we have a Person model and associated controller. We have a person record for Bob Martin that has id number 6. The URL for his show page would be:

/people/6

But, for aesthetic or SEO purposes, we want Bob's name in the URL. The last segment, the 6 here, is called the "slug". Let's look at a few ways to implement better slugs.

tmux status line from wemux example.

For a tmux status line as seen in the example image for the wemux project: wemux

The session on the left in the example screen shot uses a patched font from the vim-powerline project. Inconsolata-dz, you beautiful creature.

To duplicate the left status line add the following lines to your ~/tmux.conf

set -g status-left-length 32
set -g status-right-length 150

(Took out some company-specific terms at the top of the first one (e.g. imulus, stacks), added one term so far - 'edits'.)
NOTE: Does not include profanities. You may or may not want to add a list of those.
(See https://www.google.com/search?q=profanity+list, but don't try to apply regexp's here because Scunthorpe - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scunthorpe_problem)

Make /robots.txt aware of the Rails environment

Make /robots.txt aware of the Rails environment

You probably don't want Google crawling your development staging app. Here's how to fix that.

$ mv public/robots.txt config/robots.production.txt
$ cp config/robots.production.txt config/robots.development.txt

Now edit config/routes.rb to add a route for /robots.txt, and add the controller code.

Front-end-Developer-Interview-Questions - 前端工程師面試問題集(繁體中文版)

前端工程師面試問題集

@版本 2.0.0

Rebecca MurpheyBaseline For Front-End Developers 也是一篇很棒且值得讀的文章在你開始面試之前。
