• What role does empathy play in your life and how has it helped you?

I would like to say that empathy plays an active role in my life, but i'm not sure it does. I often find myself thinking of empathy and my ability to empathize when am asked to do exercises like this one for a new role, or a group activity. Although it has not something I actively thing about often I know it has helped me in life. I have moved to many places, had many roommates, met many different people, as i'm sure many can say. I think my ability to empathize and understand how others empathize has helped me decrease any sort of conflict and stress in new situations.

• How does empathy help you build better software?

You need empathy if you are going to create a products that someone else will use. You need to undertand how they are going to intake, react, and coverse with your program. Anticipate their struggles, understand their priorities and be able to adjust accordingly. I think a program created withough empathy for its users,

• What is your greatest strength and how do you know?

I think my greatest strength is my flexibility. I am usually able to handle new situations very well, and can adapt quickly when my taks have changed. I have had many different jobs and roles over the years, and although I didnt enjoy a lot of them, I know that I did a good job, and my flexibilty is something that has been noted by my previous bosses.

• How do you work best?

You would think this wouldnt be true based off my last answer. However, I tend work best in a structured environment with clear expectations. I think meeting expectations (even exceeding them) is a motivating factor for me. If I have some sort of accountability, or understanding of expectations, I work well under that pressure. I tend to get stressed when I am asked to do something open ended, it leaves me thinking that I dont know where the goal post is.

• A group might use one or the other depending on the intended outcome, the scope of the project, the budget for the project, and the project's timeline. Waterfall seems to be suited for high budget projects where the finished project is entireley conceptualized. Agile seems better suited for projects that are in the works or where many changes are anticipated along the way. Waterfall uses a very large team of people from start to finished, and each group of contributors isnt really collaborating with the other groups involved.
