Newsader received from Sotnik-TV an exclusive videotape from a hidden camera in which a soldier interviewed by residents of the village of Nyonox said that a nuclear-isotope rocket engine exploded on August 8, 2019 at a military training ground in the Arkhangelsk region during testing. During the conversation with the concerned villagers, the military assured them of the absence of a radioactive threat to the population and admitted that military tests of this kind had been conducted under Severodvinsk, although this had never been reported. We publish this video and carefully study the information provided by the representative of the Russian Ministry of Defence during his 30-minute speech.

The conversation was conducted in an increased tone: residents did not hurry to trust the military words and asked clarifying questions about the situation, in relation to which the Russian authorities are still presenting contradictory and incomplete information. As can be seen from the speaker's words, other servicemen were also present in the room. An army representative said he had gathered those present so that they "had no problems".

Contaminated coastline

"One of the rocket engines has been tested, but this rocket engine is powered by nuclear isotopes. There was an emergency and there was an explosion, but not a nuclear one, but an explosive one," he said (from about 7:57 a.m.).

The military stressed that only those in close proximity to the device being tested were affected by the radioactive contamination. The speaker said that all the victims were first brought to the village of Nenox, where the primary decontamination - the procedure of clearing the radiation - of all people and objects from the site of the explosion.

A representative of the Russian army called for a stay away from the coast of the White Sea because of the radioactive danger of those elements, which were formed as a result of the explosion on the test platform and could have been thrown on land. According to the military, among other things, one of the pontoons used in the tests was thrown back to the coast, and a container of ropes, chains and devices was stuck with it. "I know someone's already going to visit (the location of the wreckage is Newsader). Well, I want to warn you that you don't need to do this because there may be problems that you fear. It will happen if someone goes up on these pontoons or takes what's lying on the beach and seems safe at first sight," the military said.

Among the potentially dangerous items, he named, among others, a plastic kettle, which was allegedly used by the testers. Plastic, fabric, foam plastic - all of this, the military pointed out, can be dangerous as a matter that "absorbs" radiation well. He noted that for this reason, contact with ropes, which he said were used during the testing of a nuclear device in the White Sea, would be a threat.

In an effort to protect local residents from contact with radioactive elements, the military explained the recent introduction of measures to protect the coast near Nyonox: unauthorized access to the area is now prohibited.

Exploded under a pontoon

To the outraged exclamations of those present, who expressed dissatisfaction with the organization of military tests, the representative of the army said: "Certain military works are carried out under certain conditions. If in our country we would only think about the country, life would be different... In the city of Severodvinsk and in Nenox at 1 a.m., their jaws are broken and their teeth are kicked out. Who? Are the U.S. Marines or something? (About 15:45 videotape time).

According to him, the testing of the rocket engine he mentioned had taken place before August 8, when the information about the tests became known to the public. "Who told you that these tests were only the eighth? The tests were long before that. You didn't know anything about it," he said, answering the questions of the villagers (from about 17:57).

The storyteller urged not to compare what happened with the Chernobyl situation. "I was in Chernobyl in 1986. This is a huge explosion of power. These are the people who disappeared: they fell apart into molecules," said the soldier, explaining that if a catastrophe of this magnitude had occurred in the Arkhangelsk region, the consequences and response would have been different (from about 20:00).

"On the eighth day, people came to the pontoon, and under the pontoon... everything exploded. They died because the pontoon was planted," he said, adding that experts had been injured "incompatible with life. The speaker said that the survivors of the radiology specialists who were injured in the explosion were taken to the "Rosatom Specialized Hospital".

Approximately 22 minutes after the videotape was recorded, one of the participants of the meeting began to express her distrust to the military story and referred to the information in open sources. The interlocutor urged her not to believe these data and pointed out that during the tests of weapons evacuation is carried out only when a settlement is in a potentially dangerous area. "If not, there is no evacuation," he said.

Nuclear batteries

August 8, a "liquid engine" exploded at the military training ground near Severodvinsk, as the Ministry of Defense reported. As a result of the accident, five Rosatom specialists and two military men died. Russian scientists have announced the testing of a nuclear device.

Roshydromet reports that the background radiation in Severodvinsk was 4-16 times higher than the norm for a few hours after the explosion of a nuclear device. This information is consistent with the information originally provided on the website of the Severodvinsk administration. Later, the Severodvinsk authorities removed the information about the radiation spike, explaining that "the situation is handled by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation". The authorities assert that the background is now normalized. From the very beginning, the Ministry of Defense denied the fact of radioactive contamination.

A Newsader source in the Arkhangelsk region reported that doctors who received patients from the site of the explosion were not warned about the radioactive nature of the contamination, and FSB officers signed a non-disclosure agreement with them. Later this information was confirmed by doctors from the Arkhangelsk hospital in a conversation with The Moscow Times.

The New York Times reported, citing U.S. intelligence, that the explosion occurred during the testing of a prototype of the SSC-X-9 Skyfall nuclear-powered Thunderbird prototype by NATO. Similar information was voiced by U.S. President Donald Trump, adding that the U.S. "learned a lot" from the Russian disaster and that the Americans have more advanced technologies in this area. Reuters pointed out that the incident in the White Sea is connected with the program of hypersonic cruise missiles.

On August 15, Izvestia reported that the explosion at the Arkhangelsk region landfill occurred while working on a promising accelerator - a new liquid-propellant jet propulsion system, on board which "nuclear batteries" were mounted. Subscribe to the Newsader Facebook page: Click "Like"
