Fix iPhone home button
Found this tip in comment here: http://www.tipb.com/2011/01/04/tipb-bug-home-button-working-iphone/
1.) Open any application
2.) Press and hold the power button until the slide to shutdown swipe bar appears.
3.) Release Power button
4.) Press and hold Home button Lightly
until screen returns to icon screen
5.) Enjoy your functioning home button!!!
This procedure recalibrates the home button after normal wear or heavy use.

Are you sure this recalibrates it? I was under the impression that it force-quits the current application. Perhaps it works because pressing and holding the button dislodges dust.

Worked perfectly for me. Finally, double tapping for multitasking works properly!

Wrong. Doing this action invokes the old 'force quit application' for pre-4.0 devices. It does nothing for your Home Button.

alanzeino is right, this is nothing more than a placebo.

By the way, how exactly do you press the home button "lightly"?

This fix nothing.

I think most part of the guys above me saying it fix the problem are suffering from the placebo effect.
