This might save some cycles with insertion sort, by removing variables (j,k)
Code is much shorter, and easier to understand. (shift-up, then insert v)

Modified i will not affect numeric for loop.

This got merged into batteries here: https://github.com/1bardesign/batteries/blob/master/sort.lua

Worth having the discussion over there if you like, or just issue a PR

If it still works the same (i haven't got the spoons to squint at the code to verify) then, whatever I guess :) the algorithm is ultimately the same so I'm fine with it.
