This is a simple way of importing MySQL database in Docker.

1. In you Dockerfile you must have a shared folder. Shared folder is a directory in your host machine that is mounted to Docker instance.

2. Put the exported sql file in the shared folder.

3. Login to your Docker instance via docker exec -it DOCKER_CONTAINER_ID bin/bash.

4. Login to MySQL via mysql -u USERNAME -p.

Although MeiliSearch offers steps to install via apt, there are some dependency libraries that are not installable on the server architecture we have availble on our Tighten Forge servers. However, the servers can run the program just fine with the binary. Here are the steps I took to make it work.

Download the stable release

curl -L https://install.meilisearch.com | sh

Change the ownership and modify permissions

chmod 755 meilisearch chown root:root meilisearch

Move the binary to a system-wide available path

tomysmile

brew update
brew install redis

To have launchd start redis now and restart at login:

brew services start redis
