Cream Verified Purchase I guess I should have known better but in spite of some of the bad reviews I purchased this anyway. It absolutely is not like the original Apple iPad smart cover. The original Apple cover fit my iPad2 perfectly, was very light weight, and easily converted to a simple stand that was perfect for my requirements. This cover is too large. There should be a hard paper half-box - open in the front and covered with plastic the front only. The item I received had no box, no UPC, nothing. I could not even tell if it was the original Apple cover or a Chinese copy. So I contacted Amazon for a return. Luckily there was no problem returning the item, because it was fullfilled by Amazon. They approved the return, I printed a free return label and sent it back. After they received it a full refund was processed. So I am happy with Amazon, but not happy with the 3rd party seller, who tried to sell me a fake cover. Only buy these if they are fullfilled by Amazon to be more sure you can get your money back. To my amazement, not only was it a genuine apple leather smart cover, but it was factory sealed, and arrived the next day. Not sure how it was possible to sell the cover at that price - brand new - but it was the real deal. The cover itself is OK. There are probably more functional covers out there, but the one I was using previously never seemed to put the IPAD to sleep upon closing. This cover certainly does that well.
