writing samples
i do not think i have a smut sample? i have deleted all my roleplay threads rip but here are some of my writing samples?????? i will update every now and then because i'm literally like... digging them up.,,,, or at least trying to lmfao...
anyway i usually roleplay lin yanjun/you zhangjing that's why it's like this rip
an excerpt from a wip. not something written in a roleplay.
being with zhangjing means adventure. not only due to the fact that he’s outgoing and liked being outdoors when he’s not making artworks but because he always tries to find ways to make new art, leaving the papers and the canvas to play with a new medium. he tried graphic design, sculpting, pottery- even things that yanjun didn’t know could be used to make something new. yanjun wondered how his boyfriend could do all that way too many times already, asking him that question over and over again but all he could conclude is that zhangjing has magic hands. no normal hands would be able to make so many things that pretty aside from zhangjing’s.
lately, he had been watching different videos on youtube, looking at different makeup tutorials as past time until he purchased his first set of makeup. at first, trying it on himself until one day, he just gets dragged along into this.
and adventure could also mean that he is the adventure. and sadly, he is just too in love to say no to zhangjing. a pout is enough to win him over so he doesn’t even try fighting it anymore and just accepts his fate.
the first time zhangjing made him the canvas lasted only an hour or two, just normal make up and yanjun finds himself wondering if this person on the mirror is really him. pointy eyebrows, rosy cheeks and pink lipgloss. he even has eyeliner on with wings sharp enough that it could probably cut almost everything.
for something that took that long, it looked minimal.
that isn’t so bad though.
of course, that doesn’t last long. zhangjing would often drop his things and tasks to go with his new idea and create something new. after an item arrives, it always ends up with zhangjing experimenting on his face.
after getting used to doing makeup, zhangjing works on quirkier designs, sometimes complex enough that it takes him more than the usual to work on. even if yanjun isn’t really that into what his boyfriend likes, he always find himself amazed by the end of it. of how zhangjing was able to make it look like he has real flowers growing out of his cheeks to making him look like he just lost his whole face and now it’s been replaced with a whole galaxy. other times, he makes something a little more subtle, drawing waves on his eyelids or just simply doing a new look for practice.
excerpt from a wip
Since Zhangjing, Yanjun had gone to places he never went to. That diner hidden in an alleyway that served great burgers, a shop that sells camera equipment a few blocks away owned by a tattooed guy named Minghui, and his now favourite place, an old bookstore that sells second hand books just a bike ride away from his dorm place and some other cool places he never thought existed in the city. Places he thought would only exist in youth and romance novels.
And for each place were a bunch of images taken. Yanjun still gets surprised sometimes with the sudden shutter going off at random moments, but he's starting to get used to it. It wasn't always his face, he realized that Zhangjing would always stop and take an image as long as he thinks the view looks good and he's convinced that the other has magical hands because each and every image he takes looks beautiful.
He peeks through Zhangjing's shoulder, watching the boy write a "579" at the bottom of the polaroid. It was an image of him leaning in close to the camera, smirking. He never asked the smaller about why he always wrote numbers on random images but he's sure that the other's not counting how many images he's taken so far. As if Zhangjing knew what he wanted to ask, "It's my favourite picture for today." he explains before he re-caps his pen and puts it back in his bag. Yanjun smirks at the other's statement, "So, I'm your favourite, huh?"
ugh ok i did really like this scenario also i'm scared of the eunwoo i'm writing with plotting wise? bro he's so good at writing can i pl E A SE
if this were some romance manga, zhangjing's heart had already popped out of his body. maybe it was because he found it rare, a little impossible that someone would be curious about him as he were. and to know that they feel the same is just... so unreal. "i want to know more about you too, more than the eunwoo who kept teasing me for his own entertainment, who had compared his interest as something that possibly only sixty five year olds are interested and you who loves pottery more than anything else. actually no- i want to learn more about dongmin, not eunwoo. i want to learn more about the real you." the only thing zhangjing could hear is his own heartbeat as he spoke. his curiosity over cha eunwoo- dongmin- had just grew bigger as time went that he sometimes end up keeping himself up wondering, something he probably wouldn't admit if he were asked.
the heartfelt, sincere moment when he was disrupted by a thought- "...wait, but did i really look like i was about to go cross eyed back whenever i'm focused?" he asks, now he has that frown on him again, trying to recall how that day in the pottery went and how he probably looked like to the other. funny, he probably looked like that.
"what are you planning to give me?" there was slight confusion when eunwoo stood up to get something. a gift? now he kind of feels bad for not having readied anything at all for him as he barely went out yesterday.
a loud gasp leaves his lips upon the mention of the rose. of course, how could he forget! "oh really?" he asks, his eyes focused on the box of eunwoo's hand. "it's beautiful. thank you, eun- dongmin. and a secret is a secret. i respect that you wanted to keep your identity from other people. it's not my choice to tell the world about that."
zhangjing holds the porcelain rose with much care, not wanting to leave even a scratch on it. again, he finds himself feeling angry at someone he never knew, annoyed that they couldn't even appreciate the things that were given to them. "but the things you make are beautiful. you're too precious to be hurt and cheated on like that!" zhangjing exclaims. the rose in his hand wasn't forgotten at all, placed neatly back in the box and to somewhere safe right before he wraps his arms around the other tight. "if i see him, then i will fight him, still." and though zhangjing's all words and no bite, he is considering it for real.
"okay, sir. i'll finish all my reviewers soon. just a little more reading. you promised me, so you can't take that back!"
his playful expression easily softens into a smile upon seeing the pendant. "if i were to return this in exchange for a pet, then i'd rather not. this... this is also beautiful. i feel bad that i'm not able to give you something today now. you really are the best, handsome eunwoo. handsome dongmin. i know you'd say i shouldn't, but i'm gonna make sure i'd make you something you'd like too."
admittedly, this place is both a blessing and a curse to yanjun. a blessing because he finally finds himself with a roof over his head and a really good environment that provides him with all the things he needed and a curse because there's just so many people around. he didn't know how to approach them or if he should even be approaching them when he knew that one day, these other hybrids would be leaving with smiles on their lips, a companion holding their hand. getting attached is something he couldn't do.
even if he continuously convinces himself that he's getting better- that he's slowly opening up and becoming brighter than he was when he first gotten into this place, he knew that somehow, he's unsure of it. his fears would always eat him up before he gets comfortable.
a monster, that's what his previous owner had called him just because he couldn't wait, because he expects too much. it's only a matter of time that he'd be picked up only to be thrown away again or be returned like he were a defective product. the scene is still fresh in his mind. no matter how he tries to forget about it, it just seems to come back and haunt him at least once after completely forgetting about it.
only when he hears a noise did he snap out of his thoughts.
wrong place.
he's too occupied again that he forgot where he was supposed to be going.
"library, library, library" yanjun repeats the words over and over again to himself in a mumble, afraid that he'd think about something else and forget. he lifts his head up and a familiar face greets him, almost exactly the same as how he looked like that rainy night in the alley.
what is he doing here? didn't he...?
"it's him." he mumbles to himself. quickly, he mumbles some sort of apology, looking down and turning back.
how did he find him?
context: wherein yanjun's family tradition is marrying within the family so no one can steal the family riches (tm). yanjun is kind of antisocial and cannot read social cues/understand feelings so he always reacts differently to people it's sad that this person didn't even write me a reply rip
it was no surprise to him when it had been announced. yanjun had been expecting something like this to happen since he was young. after reading books and listening to the elderly as he helped them do chores as a child and finally hearing it from his parents a few months back. some say it's their culture, for their money not to circulate to some other family and to some, it just sounds like a badly made joke that should have never been said at all. to yanjun, it's kind of an obligation. he doesn't know what love is yet, and why people goes against it even in those films he saw before.
it was no surprise either that his cousin is against it. after all, he heard that he's currently in a relationship- was- and he would have loved to spend the rest of his life with his partner and grow old together with them. like in all of the romance book and films that he's seen before, names now forgotten as yanjun didn't really care about that, he loves adventure and discovering new things. he can only hope that the woman would be able to move on and find someone as great, if not better than his cousin.
at first he's scared of what would happen, the other is probably angry after all and might think that it's all his fault- that he was the one who chose this. after all, his mother had been so excited about this and had been telling everyone how excited her son is. it wasn't wrong, but she isn't completely right either. yanjun wanted a change to the routine he has that is slowly growing boring, they had already entertained him with letting him travel around and do the other things he wanted to do for the past two years. this must be the payment they're asking in exchange for the leisure he experienced and the same should go to his cousin.
they were all the same, and getting scared about it wouldn't really help.
five minutes late. he could have gone earlier if his mother didn't drag him back to change his clothes. he doesn't know why he had to look his best when they were getting married anyway. he read it in books that you get to see your spouse's attitude and habits the moment they live together, so why should he bother with this if he would soon find out that he prefers going out looking like 'chaos' as his mom describes it.
his cousin looks exactly like how it was in the image, expression a bit impatient. he sits right in front of him, not really wanting to bother him on what he's doing or anything. instead, he calls one of the servers and asks for a drink. it seemed like they didn't expect him to order the sweetest drink on the menu and that was enough to make him let out a light chuckle, almost forgetting that he's here for something important due to his amusement.
when he's sure that the man has his eyes on him did he only introduce himself. "i'm yanjun. lin. yan. jun." yanjun says, making sure to enunciate each syllable of his name clearly. "or evan. you can call me that too." he smiles, dimples lightly poking on his cheeks.
he wasn't quite sure whether the man in front of him knew that he's going to marry a man, especially someone like him who might sound a bit alien. "my parents told me to meet you."
