BODYSUIT The bodysuit provides both protection and flexibility and seals in a purified, oxygen-rich atmosphere.

TUNIC A tunic connects to the shoulders, independent of the cape. It is made of 50% lighter armorweave than the outer cape.

SELF-SEALING SURFACE The bodysuit is self-sealing against cuts and punctures, similar to a standard Emnat suit (the type worn by most Imperial military officers.)

2-1B: Given the trouble I encountered trying to create a purified intrasuit environment, I wasn’t about to let it leak out as a result of a simple vibroblade thrust.

BLAST DAMPENING

  1. INSULATING SHELL
  2. ANDWA GEL CRYSTAL MATRIX

IMPACT PROTECTION

  1. REIFFLEX CELLULAR PADDING
  2. ORTHOFABRIC
  3. MYLAR LAMINATE
  4. POLYCHLOROPRENE-2 FIBER WEAVE
  5. RECHARGEABLE ENERGY CELLS

PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE REGULATION

  1. PLASTEX PRESSURE GARMENT
  2. TEMPERATURE STASIS LAYER
  3. COMPRESSION SHEATH

CUSHIONED COVERAGE The patient’s organic torso is in poor physical condition and is unlikely to heal. The bodysuit encases his organic components within a tight sleeve of padded protection to reduce the likelihood of harmful physical shocks.

LIGHTWEIGHT CONSTRUCTION Although it is supported by sturdy prosthetic limbs, the weight of all the assembly’s equipment and armor is substantial. For this reason, a nonarmored bodysuit was selected. Armor from head to toe might have made it impossible for the patient to move.

TECH NOTE The central chest computer is mounted on a bodysuit bracket, which allows for direct interface with the patient’s respiratory implants, located behind the artificial sternum [see page 20].

PAGE 13

MED NOTE A heating unit on the back of the bodysuit helps regulate suit temperature.

BODYSUIT More than a garment, the bodysuit contains defensive webbing and an array of life-support monitors.

FIREPROOF MATERIAL The bodysuit is made of cushioning fabrics with an outer layer of multi-ply fireproof material. Although not armored, the bodysuit provides some protection against combat damage and exposure to flames and corrosive gases, while still allowing an acceptable range of motion.

BLAST-DAMPENING WEAVE The weave of the bodysuit is more sophisticated than it looks. The inside of the suit is webbed with blast-dampening fibers that distribute energy and kinetic impact over a broad area, making attacks much less likely to cause crippling injuries.

LIFE-SUPPORT SENSORS The interior of the suit is studded with sensors plugged into diagnostic systems. These analyze the patient’s pulmonary, respiratory, and neural interfaces and feed their data into the central chest box.

BACKPACK AIR-FILTRATION UNIT Concealed beneath the cape is a filtration unit. This unit draws in external air, purifies it, and feeds an oxygen-rich mix into the central respirator. It also houses a reservoir of compressed air, which will allow the patient to breathe for up to one hour in a vacuum.

CAPE The cape is not merely decorative. It serves important technical functions.

TECH NOTE The cape minimizes the possibility of grit or other contaminants being drawn into the filter.

ARMORWEAVE The outer cape needs to be lightweight for adequate movement, yet it must provide protection against environmental damage. The cape is constructed from armorweave, a tear-proof material composite almost as light as veda cloth.

EXTERNAL PROTECTION Not only does the armorweave cape minimize environmental damage, but it can also be used by the patient as a defensive cloak. The cape can block fire plumes and acid jets, helping protect the suit’s electronics.

DD-13: Among many humanoid cultures, a cape is a sign of aristocracy and power. Patient’s cape will announce his special status as an agent of Emperor Palpatine.
