// 1. Cook paper method (directly available from files ("ST_B10" - see below) | |

- As the reviewer I confirm that there are no conflicts of interest for me to review this work (If you are unsure whether you are in conflict, please speak to your editor before starting your review).
The package includes all the following forms of documentation:
- A statement of need clearly stating problems the software is designed to solve and its target audience in README.
- Installation instructions: for the development version of the package and any non-standard dependencies in README.
-
ipfs is installed on all systems
-
local filesystem contains a cached version of the files on the local
-
a datastructure on the local is maintained to map each
filepath
to:- an IPFS location
- metadata on the file?
-
accomplish this with
git
: -
an
.ipfs_cache/{filename}
file is maintained for each file on the filesystem -
the
.ipfs_cache/
files are plain-text files which are used to keep the local cache updated
COASTAL NEW ENGLAND MBON
The Coastal New England project integrates powerful technologies (acoustic telemetry, environmental DNA [eDNA], and acoustics) with traditional fisheries sampling to quantify impacts of changes in local and regional water conditions on individuals, populations, and community structure. Research includes study of the impacts of forage species and environmental conditions on Atlantic cod and common terns in both New Hampshire (Isles of Shoals) and southern Maine (Casco Bay) coastal waters. To study the movements of these predators, tracking tags (GPS technology for terns, acoustic technology for Atlantic cod) are used to follow their movements. We will also examine their diet, by analyzing gut contents from Atlantic cod (both visually and via genomic methods) and terns (via genomics of fecal samples). The availability of forage species (including river herring, Atlantic herring, and squid) can be quantified through tracking, active acoustics, passive acoustics, and eDNA of water sample

The goal is to create maximally-human-usable documentation of datasets, tools, indicators, etc relevant to MBON researchers.
Each entity (eg dataset) would have a directory with a README.md and optional other files. Files to submit to wikidata could also be generated.
Ideally:
- each entity (eg datset) has a homepage
- structured metadata is searchable
- API to access the data
- programmatically ingest data
- MBON data portal training is upcoming.
- when developing products remember to keep international users in mind
- USAD funding might be available
- Adriano Lima from the Air Centre can also help develop products
- he has technical ability
- was already able to leverage seascapR to create shiny app
- Portuguese tranlation for could be helpful
- Ben has had good experiences using google translate for i18n
- Thiago also willing to help
- We need better data management
